“Burgundy” Helmer Sets Next Film “In Fabric”

Following rave reviews for his sensory-rich features like “Katalin Varga,” “Berberian Sound Studio” and the lesbian lepidopterists in love and bondage tale “The Duke of Burgundy,” filmmaker Peter Strickland is set to return soon with his fourth feature.

Screen Daily reports that filming will begin next month on his new film “In Fabric” with acclaimed actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste starring.

Set during a busy winter sales period in a department store, the story follows the various owners of a cursed dress as it passes from person to person and proceeds to destroy their lives.

BFI, BBC Films, and Ben Wheatley’s Rook Films are all producing the film which will score a release sometime next year.
