Burger Brings Out “All the Old Knives”

Neil Burger (“Divergent,” “The Illusionist”) has signed on to direct a film adaptation of Olen Steinhauer’s novel “All the Old Knives” at Chockstone Pictures.

The story follows two former lovers – Henry is a CIA agent posted in Vienna, and Celia who retired from the agency five years ago. The pair reunite for dinner in an idyllic town where talk turns towards an infamous plane hijacking which left all onboard dead and is considered the Vienna station’s greatest failure to date.

As dinner progresses, it becomes clear one of them won’t make it out alive. Steinhauer adapted the screenplay with Paula Mae Schwartz, Steve Schwartz and Nick Wechsler producing.
