Bruce Willis Bored With Action Movies

It made him his fortune, but Bruce Willis seems to have had enough of the action movie genre.

Out doing international promotion for “RED 2,” for which he’s already become infamous for giving interviews ranging from hostile to extremely unengaged, Willis tells The Mirror:

“Explosions are one of the most boring parts of my job. When you have seen a few fireballs, its not exciting anymore. I know part of my audience enjoys the explosions, but to be honest, I’m a bit bored of it now.

I am very clear with who I am. I work in all sorts of films, but the action movies are the ones that generate the most revenue. I like to earn lots of money from those, but I do all types: small productions, megaprojects, medium sized, even science fiction.”

The comments follow on from last week when his “The Expendables” co-star Sylvester Stallone dropped him from that franchise’s third outing due to his pay demands. Despite all his apparent wealth, it seems big paycheques don’t make him that excited either:

“Not because I am used to it, but because I only think about money in moments like this, when another person mentions that I am a rich man. I’m not someone who spends the whole day counting bank notes.”

Willis certainly isn’t shying away from the genre either. His next few films include Robert Rodriguez’s “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For,” the adaptation of the Mitch Rapp thriller “American Assassin,” the ‘poisoned hit man seeks revenge’ tale “Expiration,” and the sixth “Die Hard”.
