Ahead of San Diego Comic Con next weekend, a convention that is expected to include a very high-profile Marvel Studios panel, casting rumors have sprouted up regarding Marvel’s “The Eternals” film.
Variety reported earlier this week that “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown had been linked to starring role in the feature. The talk got intense, fast, to the point that Brown herself has had to address it, sharing a video on her Instagram account (via CBR) saying:
“Everybody thinks that I’m going to be in a Marvel movie. Not that I know of. My family and I have no idea, so I just want to let everyone know that I’m not as of right now.”
The ‘right now’ is a caveat in that sentence and the trade isn’t often wrong, but for now it means she’s not involved. They also interviewed Kumail Nanjiani this week for the opening of the action-comedy “Stuber” and asked him about the rumors that he’s been linked to the project. He didn’t confirm or deny, telling Variety:
“I cannot comment on that. It would be so great to be part of a superhero film. I would love it so much.”
Nanjiani is also reportedly currently working out heavily with a personal trainer, could it be prep? “The Eternals” doesn’t currently have a release date but is expected out in late 2020 with filming to begin before year’s end.
