Broadchurch Renewed For A Third Season

Having averaged a consolidated nine million viewers per episode during its second season run, ITV has renewed its acclaimed British mystery drama “Broadchurch” for a third season.

David Tennant’s Detective Inspector Alec Hardy and Olivia Colman’s Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller are again expected to feature in the new season which creator Chris Chibnall will write.

Details of which other cast members will be back will be revealed at a later date. The first season of the series drew much acclaim and was one of the most talked about shows on British TV in 2013, but the just wrapped eight-episode second season has been met with a decidedly more mixed reaction.
