Brief “X-Men,” “Marvel,” “Squad” Updates

A couple of comic book related movie updates today.

First up, The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider has posted his newest Meet the Movie Press video blog which has offered some very brief scoopage on two Marvel films in the works.

He says 20th Century Fox is currently right in the midst of casting someone for the role of a young Psylocke in Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Apocalypse”. In the comics, Psylocke is a precognitive with telepathic powers, the ability to project her astral self, and the ability to project directed psionic energy.

The same report also claims that the director of the upcoming “Captain Marvel” film is “definitely” going to be a woman and the choice for it will likely be announced before mid-Summer.

In related news, The Nerdist has shot down reports that Captain Marvel will appear in the upcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron” in a cameo. They say: “A source close to production confirms that Captain Marvel will not appear in Avengers 2.”

Finally, Latino Review have posted a description of the costume that Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang character will be donning in David Ayer’s upcoming DC Comics adaptation “Suicide Squad”. They say:

“Boomerang is very rock n roll & they’re experimenting with a series of looks for him. Very hard rock influenced. Example, he wears a pantera shirt with his prison uniform plus the trademark beanie”

That film begins shooting next month in Toronto.
