Brief “X-Men,” “Captain Marvel” Rumors

Even before her solo film was announced, there were plenty of rumors regarding Carol Danvers (aka. Captain Marvel) making an appearance in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. The character did appear in early versions of the script, but the part was apparently reduced to only a brief appearance by the shooting draft.

Today, Latino Review’s El Mayimbe has posted two scoops with the first relating to Captain Marvel. According to him, the role has already been cast, but the identity of the actress is being kept top secret by Marvel.

This would also seem to indicate the character could well make a cameo in the upcoming “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” after all. At the same time, the report says that writer Jim Starlin has been brought on board the standalone “Captain Marvel” movie as a consultant, while comic writer Kelly Sue DeConnick wanted a crack at the script but it’s unclear if she got the job.

Their second story claims to have discovered the three key cameos that will be seen in Bryan Singer’s upcoming “X-Men: Apocalypse”. POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD. Two of the three were already shoe-ins – Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Channing Tatum’s Gambit, with the third said to be Halle Berry’s Storm.
