“Captain Marvel” star and Oscar winner Brie Larson has signed on to both star in and produce an untitled CIA drama series for Apple.
The project, based on the real-life experiences of undercover operative Amaryllis Fox’s upcoming memoir “Life Undercover,” was picked up straight to series following a multiple-outlet bidding war.
The series is said to be a “provocative and contemporary look at a young woman’s journey in the CIA, told through the prism of her closest relationships.”
Media Res, which is also producing the Witherspoon/Aniston morning news show for Apple, is producing. Michael Ellenberg, Samantha Housman and Lynette Howell Taylor (“A Star Is Born”) will executive produce while Megan Martin (“Animal Kingdom”) is in final negotiations to pen the script and also executive produce.
