Brie Larson (“Trainwreck,” “Free Fire”) is in talks to play the female lead alongside Tom Hiddleston in “Kong: Skull Island” at Legendary Pictures.
The story is set on the mysterious and dangerous home of the iconic ape as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island.
Michael Keaton and JK Simmons were set to play the two other male leads on the project but abruptly exited due to scheduling conflicts. Russell Crowe is being sought for one of the roles, but a lot depends upon the next script draft which hasn’t been delivered yet.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts helms from a script by John Gatins and Max Borenstein with filming aiming to begin around year’s end or early next year ahead of a March 2017 release.
