“Room,” “Trainwreck” and “Short Term 12” actress Brie Larson is in early talks to star in an adaptation of “Glass Castle” for Lionsgate.
Destin Cretton, who worked with Larson on “Short Term 12,” will helm this adaptation of Jeannette Walls’ memoir about a young girl who comes of age in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads. Her eccentric mother and alcoholic father would stir their children’s imagination with hope as a distraction to their poverty.
Marti Noxon penned the latest draft of the script while Gil Netter and Erik Feig are producing. Larson would take over a role intended for Jennifer Lawrence at one point. Lawrence left the project after an initial search for a male lead proved fruitless.
