“Narcos” and “Ghost Rider” director Brett Cullen has been cast as Thomas Wayne in director Todd Phillips’ currently in production “Joker” film at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Alec Baldwin was originally cast in the part, father of Bruce Wayne (aka. Batman), but a scheduling conflict forced him to drop out. The elder Wayne is expected to be a nastier and darker figure than he’s usually portrayed, and has a part to play in The Joker’s origin story.
Joaquin Phoenix stars as The Joker (aka Arthur Fleck), a man in the 1980s destined to become Gotham City’s Clown Prince of Crime. Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz and Marc Maron have supporting roles in the film opening October 4th 2019.
