Brenda Chapman Set For Pixar’s “Brave”

Brenda Chapman has been announced as the writer and director of Disney and Pixar’s Summer 2012 feature “Brave” says The Hollywood Reporter.

Previously titled “The Bear and the Bow”, the story focuses on medieval Scottish princess Merida (Reese Witherspoon) who is a wild girl alienated from her family. After a fight with her mother, she makes a reckless choice that has serious consequences to her father’s kingdom and all their lives.

Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson and Julie Walters also star. This marks the first project, Pixar’s 13th, to be directed by a woman.
