Kenneth Branagh is in talks to direct and star as Otto Frank in Fox Searchlight’s “Keeper Of The Diary”.
Set just after WW2, the story deals with Otto Frank’s struggle to find a publisher for the diary written by his daughter Anne Frank before she perished in the Holocaust.
He was aided by an ambitious young woman, Barbara Zimmerman, and their perseverance led to the publication of one of the most enduring documents of the Holocaust.
Matti Leshem and Lynn Harris will produce.
Branagh just wrapped directing and starring in a new adaptation of Agatha Christie’s “Murder On The Orient Express” for 20th Century Fox.
