Following rave reviews for his new Natalie Portman-led film “Vox Lux” out of Venice, filmmaker Brady Corbet has revealed his next film will be titled “The Brutalist” and has been set up once again at Andrew Lauren Productions.
Corbet will write and direct the story which follows a Hungarian-born Jewish architect in 1947 that emigrates to the United States for a better life. After his initial failures, he finds that the course of his life is changed in his new home.
The title refers to a form or architecture, the exposed, rugged concrete of massive government and administration buildings. Brian Young, Andrew Lauren and D.J. Gugenheim will produce.
There is no release date as yet for the project which will mark Corbet’s third film to date following “The Childhood of a Leader” and “Vox Lux” which opens later this year.
