Bradley Cooper is in early talks to star in Guillermo del Toro’s next film “Nightmare Alley” at Fox Searchlight. Del Toro helms and co-wrote the script with Kim Morgan.
Cooper recently received an offer and both sides have since engaged in talks. Cooper would replace Leonardo DiCaprio who ended up passing on the project.
Based more on the William Lindsay Gresham novel of the same name than the previous 1947 film, the story follows an ambitious young con-man who teams up with an even more corrupt female psychiatrist to fleece people with a mentalist act. She soon turns the tables on him, out-manipulating the manipulator.
del Toro and J. Miles Dale will produce the project which shoots this Fall.
