Filmmaker Brad Peyton is reportedly in talks to re-team with his “San Andreas” star Dwayne Johnson and producer Beau Flynn on the upcoming video game adaptation “Rampage” at New Line Cinema.
Ryan Engle (“Non-Stop”) penned the script and is a live-action adaptation of the 1980s arcade game which follows three giant monsters – a gorilla, a lizard and a wolf – who wreak havoc on major cities and landmarks across North America. Johnson will be the man who stands in their path.
The film is currently targeting a 2017 release. “San Andreas” has proven a major hit, taking in $460 million across the globe and the most successful original live-action tentpole launch of the summer and Warners’ biggest release of the year.
