Boyega Wants End To “Star Wars” Harassment

After two of his other co-stars have left social media due to the constant abuse thrown their way by angry trolls, “Star Wars” actor John Boyega says enough is enough and it must stop.

Actresses Daisy Ridley (Rey) and Kelly Marie Tran (Rose) have both gotten off social media following not just vehement reaction but racist and sexist vulgarities being thrown their way. Ridley left in 2016, while Tran was quite recent. Speaking on Twitter, Boyega says:

“If you don’t like Star Wars or the characters, understand that there are decision makers and harassing the actors/actresses will do nothing. You’re not entitled to politeness when your approach is rude. Even if you paid for a ticket!. To the majority of Star Wars fans, thank you for supporting and putting yourselves in our shoes. You understand that there is a process so much appreciated!”

Boyega himself was the subject of some hate early into production of ‘The Force Awakens,’ while fellow “Star Wars” star Mark Hamill has previously told “fans” they needed to back off.
