The first trailer for the fifth film in the Jason Bourne series, one which sees the return of star Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass after bowing out of the last one, is coming next weekend.
Eric Van Lustbader, the author who took over the Bourne novel series after Robert Ludlum’s death, confirmed on his Facebook page that the film’s title and first trailer will be revealed during the Super Bowl on Sunday February 7th.
The Bourne films have so far kept the same order as the titles of the books, which means the new one will most likely be called “The Bourne Betrayal “.
The story will pick up in the present day with Bourne “in a dark and tortured place” and one which takes him through a post-Snowden, austerity-riddled Europe. Julia Stiles, Tommy Lee Jones, Vincent Cassel, Alicia Vikander, Riz Ahmed, Scott Shepherd, and Ato Essandoh also star.
The new “Bourne” film hits cinemas on July 29th.
