Boorman, Hunnam Pen Their Memoirs

After Elton reports that John Boorman (“Excalibur,” “Deliverance”) will direct “Memoirs of Hadrian,” a film based on French writer Marguerite Yourcenar’s 1951 hit novel.

The story follows Roman Emperor Hadrian who was known for his military prowess, as well as his love of art, philosophy, culture and a young man named Antinous.

Charlie Hunnam (TV’s “Queer as Folk,” “Undeclared”) is already attached to play Antinous and Antonio Banderas is said to be in talks to play Hadrian, the later already yielding a barrage of complaints.
