Celebrated filmmaker Bong Joon-ho has been doing interviews this week days ahead of the U.S. theatrical run of the critically acclaimed dark class satire “Parasite”.
Bong’s work from “The Host” to “Snowpiercer” to “Memories of Murder” has been widely embraced and he’s experimented before with his works such as with one of Netflix’s earliest original films with “Okja”.
Speaking to Collider this week, Bong was asked the interesting question of what TV series he’d want to direct an episode of the most. His response? Netflix’s “Mindhunter” and he explains why:
“I’m very familiar with the original book because when I was working on ‘Memories of Murder,’ I studied a lot about American serial killers and, of course, that book is written by the first criminal profiler. So it was basically like the bible. I’m very familiar with the serial killers featured in that book, as well.”
While Film Twitter hoses itself down and smokes a cigarette in the wake of that possibility, remember to catch “Parasite” in cinemas Friday. The first two seasons of “Mindhunter” are on Netflix now.
