So far the only thing we’ve seen or heard about “Another Way to Die”, the theme song to the upcoming James Bond flick “Quantum of Solace”, is a Coke commercial using an instrumental version of the number.
That has upset White Stripes frontman Jack White accoording to The BBC. The song’s writer and co-singer claims it was not his decision to license the song for use in the promo and that he’s “disappointed that you first heard the song in a co-promotion for Coke Zero, rather than in its entirety.”
Meanwhile Alicia Keys, who sings the duet with White, tells MTV that she’s very proud of the song – “It’s like this crazy kind of energetic hard song with valleys and peaks. It has Memphis Horns on it. It’s a great mixture.” She’s also seen the film itself and says “I’ve never seen a movie with a car chase, a boat chase, and a plane chase all in the same flick.”
So far the only person not involved in the film’s making to have heard the number in full is a reviewer for The Guardian who says it’s a “Southern rock’n’soul potboiler, with the Memphis Horns and two feline vocals helping recall the franchise’s musical golden days.”
