Though not confirmed at this time, British columnist Baz Bamigboye reports that “Django Unchained” and “Horrible Bosses 2” star Christoph Waltz has signed on to play the main villain in the upcoming twenty-fourth James Bond film at Sony Pictures.
Sam Mendes is helming the project which has Daniel Craig set to return as Bond himself. Also returning from “Skyfall” are Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Miss Moneypenny and Ben Whishaw as Q.
Lea Seydoux (“Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol”) is set to appear in the film, whilst Dave Bautista (“Guardians of the Galaxy”) is rumored to be playing the villainous henchman.
It has also been rumored that the character of Blofeld and the organization of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. may return to the franchise after Sony won back the rights a year ago. Could Waltz be the new Blofeld?
Filming is slated to begin in early December in Mexico, Morocco, Austria, Italy and London.
