32 year-old Chinese actress Tang Wei (“Lust, Caution”) is currently top of the list to play a small villainess role in the upcoming 23rd James Bond film reports MI6 HQ.
The casting directors reportedly interviewed over one hundred actresses from Asia for the part. Other candidates include Fan Bingbing, Li Bingbing, Shu Qi and Josie Ho.
Wei’s strong English language skills reportedly make her a favourite for the role, as does the fact her management company is one of the major investors in the film.
Shooting on the next 007 film is slated to commence November 7th on location in the UK where Central London’s Smithfield Market will be used for a car chase scene with Bond having to “switch from a Range Rover to a Jaguar”.
The film’s traditional press conference launch will take place in late November when shooting at Pinewood Studios commences.
