EON Productions and Sony Pictures have just issued their start of production announcement for the upcoming twenty-second James Bond film and in doing so have revealed some key news.
Most importantly the new leading Bond girl has been found – Ukranian actress Olga Kurylenko. The 27-year-old will be best known to American audiences for her work opposite another spy-hunting assassin – serving as the female lead in the recent lacklustre film adaptation of the video game “Hitman”. She also played a vampire opposite Elijah Wood in the acclaimed anthology film “Paris je t’aime”.
Kurylenko will play the “dangerously alluring Camille, who challenges Bond and helps him come to terms with the emotional consequences of Vesper’s betrayal”. Already confirmed French actor Mathieu Amalric plays the key villain role of Dominic Greene, a leading member of the villainous organization introduced in “Casino Royale”. Gemma Arterton’s character of ‘Fields’ will be that of an MI6 Agent. Also officially returning are Judi Dench in her role as M, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter and Giancarlo Giannini as Mathis.
Shooting is presently underway at Pinewood Studios in the UK.
