AMC is teaming with Sony Pictures Television on “The Night of the Gun,” a six-part mini-series based on the memoirs of New York Times reporter David Carr.
“Better Call Saul” star Bob Odenkirk is set to play Carr in the story of the journalist’s longtime struggle with addiction. Carr died in 2015 of heart disease after collapsing in the newsroom.
Shawn Ryan (“The Shield,” “Last Resort”) is adapting the script and both wille executive produce. AMC has been very strict with its choice of limited series, more recently it aired the much-acclaimed co-production “The Night Manager”.
