Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions, the studio behind most of the horror and supernatural franchises to have hit cineplexes in the past five years, are set to tackle a movie about a different kind of evil – former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes.
Blumhouse Television, which also did HBO’s much acclaimed docuseries”The Jinx,” will produce the mini-series based on journalist Gabriel Sherman’s novel “The Loudest Voice in the Room” which covers Ailes’ exit from Fox News this past summer following sexual assault allegations from several women, most notably former anchor Gretchen Carlson.
Sherman’s reporting on Ailes whilst working as a national affairs editor for New York magazine will also be incorporated, Sherman breaking several of the biggest stories regarding Ailes there.
Ailes was said to have compiled a 400-plus page dossier on Sherman while the latter was reporting on the allegations made against him.
Sherman, his wife Jennifer Stahl, and “Spotlight” director Tom McCarthy will executive produce the project which is not yet attached to a network.
