Blumhouse Television and Hulu are teaming for “Into the Dark,” a new twelve-episode horror event series which will release a standalone super-sized episode on the first Friday of every month throughout the year on Hulu.
Each episode is inspired by a holiday from the month of its release, but all will feature Blumhouse’s signature genre/thriller spin on the story. Blumhouse Television is working with a broad section of filmmakers, creators and actors to bring the venture to life.
The story kicks off with Paul Davis’ “The Body” on October 5th starring Tom Bateman (“Murder on the Orient Express”) in the lead role. Set in Los Angeles on Halloween night, the story follows a sophisticated and overconfident hitman whose victim becomes a part of his elaborate costume as those around him in LA’s vapid culture start to catch on. Rebecca Rittenhouse, Aurora Perrineau, David Hull and Ray Santiago also star.
The second on November 2nd is Patrick Lussier’s “Flesh & Blood” starring Dermot Mulroney as a doting father trying to help his agoraphobic daughter (Dana Silver) dealing with her mother’s still-unsolved murder. That story is set on the eve of Thanksgiving.
