Blue Jasmine Expands To 1200 Screens

Woody Allen’s acclaimed “Blue Jasmine” is scheduled to expand from its current 229 screen rollout to over 1200 nationwide this weekend.

This will make it Allen’s most widely released film to date, surpassing 2011’s “Midnight In Paris”.

The film has already grossed $9.9 million since its limited release began nearly four weeks ago where it averaged a stunning $102,000 per screen haul in six theaters.

It is also considered a major awards contender, especially regarding a potential Best Actress nomination for Cate Blanchett.
