“Blue Crush” Is Set To Become A TV Series

NBC has given a script commitment (with penalty) for a TV series based on the John Stockwell-directed 2002 feature “Blue Crush” which stars Kate Bosworth, Michelle Rodriguez and Sanoe Lake.

The original followed three best friends living in Hawaii and surfing on its famed North Shore. The breakout hit launched the careers of Bosworth and Rodriguez and spawned a direct-to-video sequel.

“Switched At Birth” creator Lizzy Weiss, who co-wrote ‘Crush’ with Stockwell, will pen the series adaptation and will executive produce alongside Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo for Universal TV and Imagine Television.
