Bloom Set For “Hobbit”, Three For “Games”

Peter Jackson has confirmed via Facebook that Orlando Bloom is locked to return as Legolas in “The Hobbit”. Here’s his posting:

“Ten years ago, Orlando Bloom created an iconic character with his portrayal of Legolas. I’m excited to announce today that we’ll be revisiting Middle Earth with him once more. I’m thrilled to be working with Orlando again. Funny thing is, I look older and he doesn’t! I guess that’s why he makes such a wonderful elf.”

Meanwhile, Lionsgate has cast young unknown actress Amber Chaney in the role of the Avox girl in Lionsgate’s feature adaptation of “The Hunger Games”.

In the book, an Avox is someone who has revelled against the Capitol and had their tongue cut out in punishment.

Also joining the cast this week are Kimiko Gelman (“CSI Miami”) and Nelson Ascencio (“Mad TV”) as Venia and Flavius respectively, two members of the prep team for Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence).
