Mark Strong tells The Telegraph that Cate Blanchett is likely to take over for Sienna Miller in the role of Maid Marian in Ridley Scott’s “Nottingham”.
“I think Cate Blanchett is set to take the Maid Marian part. She is a wonderful actress and it would make it a much classier film if she was in it” says Strong who is tipped to play Sir Guy of Gisbourne.
Reports a while back had Miller departing the project as she was deemed to young and thin to star opposite the older Russell Crowe as the Sheriff.
At the time Crowe was still carrying around much of the weight he gained from “Body of Lies”, though since then a slimmer Crowe has been seen around Sydney hard in training to prepare for the role.
The partnering with Blanchett seems a more comfortable coupling both talent and age wise. The film is scheduled for a November 2010 release.
