Along with all her film projects, Cate Blanchett is famous for working extensively on the stage as both actress and theatre director in her home country of Australia.
She’s now also a part of Del Kathryn Barton’s trippy new short film “RED” in which she portrays Mother, a “spider-like woman who eats her partner after sex and weaves a tangled web” according to SMH.
“Chronicle” and “Goldstone” hunk Alex Russell is also onboard, as is Sydney Dance Company’s Charmene Yap in the project described as “a surrealist take on female power inspired by the mating rituals of the Australian red back spider.”
“RED” will premiere as part of the Adelaide Festival at the Art Gallery of South Australia in January. Check out the teaser below:
