Dutch actress Sylvia Hoeks, best known as Jared Leto’s right-hand woman in “Blade Runner 2049,” will play actress Sylvia Kristel in a biopic from “Bullhead” director Michael R. Roskam which is set up at Savage Film.
The untitled drama will focus on Kristel’s career in the 1970s and 1980s when the Dutch model became known for the soft-core porn/erotic drama “Emmanuelle” which became a worldwide phenomenon and franchise launcher in 1974.
She would reprise the role multiple times over the next twenty years along with roles in other movies from the “Get Smart” film “The Nude Bomb” to the likes of “Lady Chatterley’s Lover,” “Red Heat,” “Mata Hari” and “The Fifth Musketeer “.
Her big screen success, however, stood in stark contrast to her troubled personal life which included a series of relationships and a cocaine addiction. Dimitri Verhulst is penning the script and filming will take place in France, Netherlands, Belgium and Los Angeles.
Roskam’s most recent film “Racer and the Jailbird” opens later this year, as does the ‘Dragon Tattoo’ sequel “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” which Hoeks has a key role in as Lisbeth Salander’s twin sister.
