Blacklist Gets A Second Season Renewal

A day after airing the show’s mid-season finale, NBC has officially renewed its James Spader-led drama series “The Blacklist” for a full 22-episode second season.

The series is the top new drama of the Fall season in both demo and total viewers, along with major upticks in viewership when DVR is taken into account.

The show wrapped the first part of its first season last night with a 3.5/10 rating and 12.3 million viewers, the show’s best scores since its premiere. Taking time-shifting into account, the show averages a 5.2 rating and 17.1 million viewers.

The series returns with three new episodes starting January 13th, will then take a break while NBC does its Winter Olympics coverage, and then returns afterwards to complete its 22 episode run. The second season is scheduled to debut next Fall.
