Blackgate Hits Consoles, “Bioshock” Continues?

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is planning to release Nintendo 3DS/PlayStation Vita game “Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate” on regular consoles.

This ‘Deluxe Edition’ will boast enhanced graphics, a new map, and a hint system to help address navigation issues. Players can also unlock a Zero Year Batsuit skin. The download-only re-release hits Steam, PS3, Wii U and 360 on April 1st and sells for $19.99.

Despite the recent closure of Irrational Games, the company behind the first “Bioshock” and the recent “Bioshock Infinite,” its parent company 2K games has every intention of continuing the franchise. A rep tells Game Informer:

“BioShock is one of our most beloved and critically acclaimed franchises, and we are indebted to Ken and the talented team at Irrational Games for their contributions to the series with BioShock and BioShock Infinite; the latter being one of the most decorated games of 2013. The BioShock universe remains a rich creative canvas for many untold stories, and we look forward to exploring the next BioShock experience.”
