Jack Black and “Hostel” filmmaker Eli Roth are teaming up to adapt John Bellairs’ 1973 gothic horror children’s novel “The House With a Clock in Its Walls” for Amblin Entertainment.
The story follows a recently orphaned boy who moves in with this uncle (Black). The uncle is a mediocre witch, and soon the boy finds himself in a world of magic and danger, especially when he discovers a clock inside the walls of his house that is designed to bring about doomsday.
“Supernatural” creaotr Eric Kripke wrote the script and will produce with Brad Fischer and James Vanderbilt.
