Universal Pictures has optioned London-based litigator Jared Cowie’s Black List script “Bismarck” which Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are attached to produce.
Set during the darkest hours of WWII, the true story tale follows British naval officer is thrust into the thick of the hunt for the most formidable Nazi battleship to ever set sail: the Bismarck.
Meanwhile the team behind “The Theory Of Everything” are re-assembling for “Darkest Hour, an epic WWII drama about Winston Churchill and a make-or-break moment of truth he faced in 1940.
At the time, Churchill was under pressure to make a deal with Hitler that would have established Britain as a puppet state of the Third Reich. Churchill instead summoned the courage to fight on. Production aims to begin next year.
