Filming kicked off over the weekend in Los Angeles on a series of reshoots and additional filming for the new “Birds of Prey” movie.
The film’s crew was spotted at Hawthorne Mall doing pickup shots connected to a stunt shoot from earlier this year. The scene in question has Harley (Margot Robbie) crouching and ‘skating’ whilst holding on to Black Mask’s (Ewan McGregor) car.
“John Wick” director Chad Stahelski has joined the film and has worked with director Cathy Yan to design some new stunts to polish/beef up the action a bit – so there’s no telling how long the additional photography will run for. Judging from what’s been shown so far, it mostly looks to be about getting additional angles and footage for existing sequences within the film.
The reshoots also come as a brief first teaser trailer was screened in select cinemas last weekend with screen captures already online, and a full copy should go up soon.
Robbie and McGregor will be joined by Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain.
“Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)” opens on February 7th 2020.
