In a blog posting on Thursday, BioWare general manager Casey Hudson revealed he is working on “some secret ‘Dragon Age’ stuff” and will spill more details about it in coming months.
“‘Dragon Age’ is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we’re excited to continue its legacy” he says in the post. This follows on from executive producer Mark Darrah hinting earlier this year that developers are ‘hard at work’ on a project involving the franchise.
The last entry in the series was 2014’s “Dragon Age: Inquisition” which scored numerous Game of the Year awards.
Hudson also spoke a bit more about the future of the “Mass Effect” franchise, saying: “We announced one of the things we’ve done recently (a 4K enhancement to ‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ on Xbox One) but as we alluded to in our N7 Day video, that was just a small part of the plans we’re making for ‘Mass Effect’ going forward.”
BioWare is mostly focused at present on their online RPG title “Anthem” with the game passing the alpha stage and now in the midst of bug fixing and testing along with getting the developers to play the game from their homes. That game is still targeting a February 22nd release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
