Almost thirty years after playing District Attorney Harvey Dent in Tim Burton’s 1989 “Batman” film, actor Billy Dee Williams is returning to the franchise in the same role.
Filmmaker Chris McKay has confirmed on Twitter that Williams will voice the role of Dent, or rather his subsequent villain persona Two-Face, in the upcoming “The LEGO Batman Movie”.
Burton’s original plan was for Williams’ Dent to become Two-Face for “Batman Forever” – plans that were scuttled when Burton was replaced by Joel Schumacher.
Williams joins a cast that includes Will Arnett as Batman, Michael Cera as Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, Mariah Carey as Gotham’s mayor, and Zach Galifianakis as The Joker. A bunch of other Bat-villains appear but it hasn’t been revealed who plays those.
“The LEGO Batman Movie” opens in cinemas on February 10th.
