It has been a busy day for premium cable network Showtime which used today’s Television Critics Association presentation to confirmed they have renewed both “Masters of Sex” and “Ray Donovan” for fourth seasons of twelve episodes each. Both seasons will premiere in 2016.
Not all the network’s shows survived though with Lisa Kudrow’s “Web Therapy” series officially getting the axe and not returning for a fifth season.
Showtime has also released the official trailer for its new drama series “Billions” along with locking in a Sunday January 17th premiere date on-air, on-demand and online.
The twelve-episode series follows two ambitious but opposing figures in the world of New York finance and politics – the bullish and connected U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) and the calculating, blue-collar billionaire hedge fund king Bobby ‘Axe’ Axelrod (Daminan Lewis).
The show is written and executive produced by Brian Koppelman and David Levien (“Ocean’s Thirteen,” “Rounders”), and Andrew Ross Sorkin (“Too Big To Fail”).
