Production is continuing apace on “Bill and Ted Face The Music,” the long-awaited and now finally happening third film in the popular series following “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” and “Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey”.
None could be happier that the project is finally coming to fruition than series co-creator/writer Ed Solomon who has been offering teases and updates when he can. Just this week, Solomon was asked to describe the tone of the new film and how it compares to the previous two. He says on Twitter:
“Tonally Face The Music is closer to Excellent Adventure than Bogus Journey, but with the weight, and experience, and the life of joys and losses that age brings. The best comedy, to me, is absurdity rooted in human truth. That’s our goal, at least. Did we hit it? Guess we’ll find out.”
In the film, now middle-aged best friends Bill and Ted (Alex Winter & Keanu Reeves) set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe.
Along the way, they will be helped by their daughters (Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine), old friends (including William Sadler as Death), a new batch of historical figures, and a few music legends. “Barry” and “Gotham” scene-stealer Anthony Carrigan will play the film’s villain. Kid Cudi also stars in the film which opens August 21st 2020.
