Three surprise cameos in Marvel Studios’ two big films for 2015 were seemingly revealed over the weekend.
MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD
It began with “Luther” star Idris Elba, who played Heimdall in the two “Thor” films. In a new interview with The Telegraph, he indicated his character will make an appearance in the upcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron”.
Not only that, but he’ll be sharing a scene with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, the latter of which had not been linked to that entry. Elba took on a DJ in residency role in Ibiza this past summer and it sounds like he took a brief break to shoot his role:
“I’m in Avengers. And I’m doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth [who plays Thor] and Tom Hiddleston [Loki], and they’re like, [whispers] – ‘Aren’t you [meant to be] in Ibiza? That’s why I was p—– about my set yesterday. I really just wasn’t there. I was annoyed.”
Meanwhile, a casting call has gone up at Projectcasting.com for body doubles and stand-ins in Atlanta on Marvel’s currently shooting “Ant-Man” adaptation.
Who’re they seeking said doubles for? Why Peggy Carter it would seem: “NLC is searching for an experienced stand in for Haley Atwell. She is 31, 5’7″, 112 lbs. This will work in November on a Sunday… Must have experience. Thanks.”
The character’s name was previously rumored for a brief appearance in the film alongside a young Howard Stark, a young Alexander Pierce and Armin Zola in a report back in August. This would seem to lend credence to that report.
It would also mark Atwell’s seventh time in the role following the two “Captain America” films, the Marvel one-shot short film, the “Agents of SHIELD” second season premiere, the upcoming “Agent Carter” limited series, and “Avengers: Age of Ultron”.
