“The Big Short” and “Anchorman” helmer Adam McKay will next direct an untitled drama about former Vice President Dick Cheney that is setup at Paramount Pictures.
Cheney was a Halliburton chief executive who became reputedly the most powerful vice president in American history. Serving eight years under President George W. Bush, Cheney expanded the powers of the presidency, and pressed the war on global terrorism post 9/11.
McKay considers him arguably the single most powerful political figure in modern American history and has completed a screenplay that will go out to actors shortly.
The plan is to shoot in the Spring with a late 2017 release being targeted. McKay, Will Ferrell, Brad Pitt, Kevin Messick, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner will produce.
