Big Man Japan Gets A Remake

Hitoshi Matsumoto’s 2007 directorial debut “Big Man Japan” is about to get an American remake at Sony Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.

The mockumentary follows Masaru Daisato, a man who is able to grow to a height of approximately 30 meters and has inherited the duty of protecting Japan against various giant monsters for the defence ministry.

Despite his great power, he is regarded as an outcast by his fellow citizens and deeply estranged from his immediate family. He also struggles under the burden of living up to a heroic lineage.

Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi will pen the script while Neil H. Moritz will produce.
