“Big Bang,” “Tangled,” “Superstore” Scoring Renewals

It’s a time of renewals at the networks it would seem.

First up, CBS is nearing a deal for TV’s biggest sitcom – “The Big Bang Theory” – to run another two seasons – taking it up to a twelfth season. The show’s five stars – Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayaar – are reportedly all also close to signing new contracts to return with all five potentially scoring up to $1 million per episode.

NBC has handed out a renewal for the America Ferrera-led comedy “Superstore” with a twenty-two episode third season in the works. The single-camera workplace comedy centers on a group of employees at a Wal-Mart-like retail store in St. Louis.

Finally, the Channel has renewed the animated series “Tangled” and “Elena of Avalor” for new seasons. The former gets a second, the latter a third on the cable network.
