Biehn Confirms He’s In Blomkamp’s “Alien”

Though it has been hinted at for a little over two months, it is now finally confirmed – Michael Biehn will be a part of filmmaker Neill Blomkamp’s new “Alien” movie and reprise the role of Hicks he played in 1986’s “Aliens”.

Biehn made his announcement a while back on his Instagram profile, but the news hadn’t gotten around as his profile had not been public. In a statement, Biehn says:

“It’s official. I will be reprising my role as ‘Cpl.’ (Not for long…) Dwayne Hicks. With the go-ahead, Hicks will return with Ripley in mid 2017. Perhaps Hicks and Ripley well eventually get to second base in this one.”

The real surprise though is that there’s already a hint of a schedule. Biehn apparently suggested that some of his upcoming convention appearances in August may be scratched as due to “Alien” scheduling conflicts.

How Blomkamp’s still-untitled “Alien” sequel will deal with Hicks’ apparent death in the opening moments of “Alien 3” is unsure. The Biehn Instagram profile as well seems to have been deactivated.
