It pays to be Queen Bey. It has been revealed that Netflix and Beyonce’s three-project deal, which began with this past week’s “Homecoming” concert documentary, is worth a whopping $60 million.
‘Homecoming,’ for which Beyonce Knowles-Carter is credited as executive producer, writer and director, came in at around $20 million and the other two specials are expected to come in at the same expense.
HBO was reportedly interested in the project, the network airing her 2016 “Lemonade” film and 2014 “On the Run Tour” concert special, but backed out when Netflix had a richer offer.
Netflix has famously been handing out cash to top talent to sign them for deals from showrunners like Shonda Rhimes ($100M) and Ryan Murphy ($250M) to comedians like Dave Chappelle ($60M) and Chris Rock ($40M).
