Ignoring the failure of the awkward film version in 2005, Sony Pictures TV and Red Wagon Entertainment are shopping around a new TV version of the classic sitcom “Bewitched”.
Elizabeth Montgomery starred in the original as a witch married to an ordinary mortal man. The show chronicled her efforts to lead the life of a typical suburban housewife, though her disapproving magical family and nosy neighbours often got in the way.
Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein (“The Vow”) are penning the new contemporary take on the show which is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. Multiple networks are reportedly interested in the series.
The series has enjoyed a long after-life in syndication and around the world.
