After one great and two rather awkward first photos, FIlmsactu has posted scans of three more photos from “The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn” and the verdict is definitely better, showing off a more stylised look to the characters and environments which make the ‘uncanny valley’ effect less disconcerting.
In the shots we see a first look at twin detectives Thomson and Thompson, the roles Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are set to play, as they question Silk (Toby Jones), a pickpocket with kleptomania who has been lifting wallets all over town. The second shows Barnaby (Joe Starr) delivering a warning to Tintin.
Most revealing though is the third shot of the bunch which looks like a direct panel recreation from “The Crab with the Golden Claws” with Tintin and Haddock stuck in the Sahara desert after a plane crash. This definitely confirms comments previously made by Spielberg that some scenes are being taken from that story to merge with the narrative which already includes all of the books “The Secret of the Unicorn” and “Red Rackham’s Treasure”.
